The Beginning of the Foundation

The Lay Witnessing Foundation was begun out of a need for laymen to be available to share their witness in an organized manner through a weekend experience in a local church.  Year by year, the requests have come.  The Baptist Lay Witnessing Foundation, Inc. was established on September 16, 1958.  This was done with the full understanding and endorsement of the work by the General Board of the Baptist State Convention of NC.  Since its inception, the Foundation has pledged to work fully with those programs that have a similar responsibility in the Convention.

Purpose

IS YOUR CHURCH A WITNESSING CHURCH?

ARE YOU, AS A CHRISTIAN, SHARING YOUR FAITH?

IF YOUR ANSWER IS NOT A DEFINITE “YES”, PERHAPS THE BAPTIST LAY WITNESSING ORGANIZATION (BLWF) CAN HELP YOU AND YOUR CHURCH.

The Bible teaches the importance of one sharing his faith.  No where does the Bible leave options for Christians to choose not to share their faith.  In Acts 1:8, we find these words:
But you shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.  And you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest  parts of the earth. (NASB).

Also, we find in Psalms 107:2 these words:
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

These and many other verses testify to the demand of our Lord to be His witnesses.  The BLWF takes seriously the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 16-20) to share the Good News to a lost world.  The world in which we live is lost!  The country and state in which we live is lost.  Over 67% of the United States is unchurched (two out of every three people).  You can help make a difference!

The primary purpose of the BLWF is to enable men, women, boys and girls to intentionally and effectively share their faith.
